Coro received this recognition during the Hispanicize 2015 week in Miami
The first annual Tecla Awards were held on Monday, March 16, 2015 at Hispanicize 2015 and Technology expert Ariel Coro was recognized as the best technology blogger for Latinos. The awards featured 30 categories– 20 of which are focused on Latino bloggers and 10 devoted to multicultural marketing agencies and brands.
Coro’s work on the Tu Tecnología blog has been part of a 360 content platform which includes live TV appearances in Univision’s Despierta América, CNN en Español, as a frequent guest of national radio shows and his latest venture, Mundo Tec, a weekly tech segment that airs in some of the top markets in the United states via the Univision Affiliates.
“We’ve been blogging since phones used to open like a clam and you had to find the letters by pressing the numbers several times” – said Coro in his acceptance speech. He also encouraged the audience to pay it forward and help those who don’t have access to these new and important technologies.
Tecla means key in Spanish, as in the keys in a keyboard, which is a reference to the digital nature and spirit of the award created to recognize excellence in Latino blogging and social media. The awards also recognize the growing influence these individuals and organizations have on the public opinion. Hispanicize is considered the most important event for Hispanic bloggers in the United States.
