For the second year consecutively, Ariel Coro and Tu Tecnologia have been nominated as finalists for the Hispanicize and DiMe Media Tecla Awards. Coro and Tu Tecnologia were winners of this category in 2015.

“It’s a tremendous honor and I feel humbled to be nominated to such prestigious awards. It’s time for Latinos to be recognized for all the hard work we do to educate and stand by our communities and these awards definitely have the gravitas to put our issues into the very important national spotlight,” said Coro.

As the most renowned tech expert for Latinos, Coro reaches millions of households through a combination of national TV shows such as Despierta America, Café CNN as well as a variety of local and national radio stations and publications. His work has made it possible for millions of Latinos to improve their lives by leveraging technology to get ahead in the connected age. His book “El Salto, aprovecha las nuevas tecnologias y alcanza tu potencial” has been an educational beacon and a technology primer for Hispanics in the United States and around the world. Through his Tu Tecnología multimedia platform, Coro continually creates awareness about important and relevant topics for the Hispanic community such as privacy, cyber-bullying, e-commerce and most importantly, education among many other topics.

In his acceptance speech for last year’s awards, Coro highlighted the importance of smartphones and how the free flow of information and communication in the palm of our hands can really make a difference for Latinos throughout the world.

The finalists for the Tecla Awards Technology Category were:

  • El Pulso via Mashable
  • El Mundo Tech
  • Tu Tecnologia
  • Latina Geeks

The awards feature over 28 categories across all branches of multicultural content creation and there are over 100 carefully selected finalists out of the over 1000 nominations received by the organization.

The Awards Gala will be held on April 7th during Hispanicize week and will be live streamed so anyone with a smartphone and an internet connection can watch them.
