We wrapped up our national and international coverage of theNew York International Auto Show. Although we didn't have the GMC Sierra 1500 in the lineup, we were featured in national TV outlets such as Univision nationally and CNN en Español for all of the United States,Central and South America.

After two exclusive press days, the New York InternationalAuto Show opened to the public on Friday. Like the premier auto show that itis, the NYIAS continues to enjoy the attention of the biggest names in th eautomotive industry.  Here are some of the coolest vehicles on display here at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center this year.

Rivian, fully charged...

Every year, we’ve seen brands come and go. We’ve witnessed thef ailure and success of new models but rarely have we seen a new brand with somuch promise and potential. Rivian is America’s newest car company and has just debuted the all-electric R1S SUV.

Although it’s not a high-performance supercar, the Rivian 1Scan go from 0 to 60 mph under three seconds. The entirety of its design andengineering is done in Normal, IL and is expected to go on sale by 2020. Prices are expected to start below $70k. The SUV can cover over 400 miles on a singlecharge and it comes equipped with quad motors on each wheel.

An all-new 2020 Lincoln Corsair

The Lincoln Motor Company also rode on the recent sales boost to introduce the all-new 2020 Lincoln Corsairand indeed, the stunning new Corsair has taken small SUVs to new heights. The low and wide Lincoln Corsair is built in Louisville, Kentucky, equipped with2.3L turb0 and 280 horsepower. The all-new design is packed filled with safetytechnology and offers an all-wheel-drive option. It features an 8-speedautomatic transmission and the awesome look comes complete with sleek LEDheadlights. 

2019 AlfaRomeo Quadrifoglio NRING

The 2019 Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio NRING Vehicles also stole theShow. The NRING Editions pay homage to Alfa Romeo’s winning ways at Nϋrburgring (one of the world’s most popular race tracks)and will be offered on the Stelvio SUV and the Guilia. Only 110 of thesewill be available for North America.  Itsports a carbon fiber roof, an internal carbon fiber steering wheel, as well asred and black leather interior with red stitching.

This is the most powerful performance package from Alfa Romeowith a best-in-class 505 horsepower and 2.9L twin-turbocharged V6 engine. Thesenew NRINGs will with sporty 19-inch wheels, racing car seats, and are availablein Special Gray, Carbon Fiber accents, Red BrakeCalipers. While the 2019Giulia Quadrifoglio NRING will cost $89,890, the 2019 Stelvio Quadrifoglio NRING will set you back $95,890.

Amore affordable Hyundai 2020 Venue CX SUV

Hyundai also introduced theHyundai 2020 Venue CX SUV as its most affordable SUV ever. It is Hyundai’sseventh SUV line and it features a two-tone extroverted color option for roof,mirrors, and trim. Fuel economy has taken major consideration in the design ofthe 2020 Hyundai Venue CX as it offers 33 miles (combined). It is available asmanual or CVT, while it offers a snow mode on its FWD systems. The 2020 HyundaiVenue CX SUV comes in eight fun and youthful colors. It features an 8-inchscreen, has pet protection and costs less than $20k.

Passport, butmore powerful and rugged

Honda also rode on the popularity of SUVs to expand customerchoice with the 5-passenger, V6-powered, Honda Passport SUV. The Honda Passportwas on exhibition at the NYIAS, like a kind of blend between the CR-V and thePilot lineups. While it is more powerful and rugged than the CR-V, it is moresporty and personal than the family-focused Pilot.

The Passport is designed for the adventure-minded customer andthose looking for a 5-passenger SUV with more power and ruggedness. ThePassport can be set to drive on multiple surfaces from mud to snow, and sand.It can adapt to the surface underneath it to give you the best ride. It isavailable already, starting at $31,990.

Theracing-inspired Nissan GTR & 370Z1

The racing-inspired Nissan GTR & 370Z1 also caught ourattention. The GT-R nameplate was introduced 50 years ago three new 2020 GT-Rtrim levels were on show for a glimpse into the 50th-anniversary edition. Blue makes a return with this, complete with white racing stripes.

The new edition features a specially handcrafted 3.8L twin-turbocharged engine and an increased horsepower of 600 HP. among others,it features a special gray interior, an Alcantara® headliner with unique stitching, and a unique steering wheel with shift knob trim. The limited 50th-anniversary edition spots a rear badge, 19-inch alloy wheels and will be available in white and red or silver and black.

A sporty andelegant 2020 Hyundai Sonata

The all-new sporty and elegant Hyundai Sonata 2020 promiseswowed us with its all new-exterior design and the incredible tech that Teslacan’t even match at the moment. After 34 years on the market, the 8th-gen Hyundai 2020 Sonata sports an overall bold design. The sleek bodywork allaround also features LED streaks that light up the hood at night.

For tech, the 2020 Hyundai can be connected to your smartphoneto open doors and start the engine from 40 feet away. You can even transferthis control to anyone who also has a cellphone. There is also a wireless charging pad where you can just drop your phone to charge while you drive.

A completely redesigned Ford Escape

The Ford Escape sold about 272,000across North America last year and is the second best-selling vehicle after theF-Series. The 2020 Ford Escape was on display at the New York Auto Show,completely redesigned.  The all-new hybrid motor features the best-in-class EPA-estimated range of more than 550miles and a pure-electric range of 30 plus miles.

Along with an impressive 37.5cubic feet of cargo space, it also features the all-new sliding second-rowseats giving it best-in-class second-row legroom. The new Ford 2020 Escape comes equipped with Ford’s own Co-Pilot 360™ driver-assist technology, with a 12.3-inch all-digital instrument cluster. There is also the driver assist Active Park Assist 2.0 andthe Evasive Steering Assist features and a Heads-up Display, all of which makesthe 2020 Ford Escape truly cutting edge.

Cars stillmatter…

It’s not all about SUVs after all. As much as 55% off irst-time buyers prefer cars. For Gen Z, this goes up to as much as 70%,according to Strategic Vision. In this ever-competitive world of cars, theHonda Civic has emerged the most popular car in the US with individual retail buyers for three years now, according to Urban Science.

The 10th-Gen Civic, on display at the show, has achieved unprecedented success and has sold more than a million units since its November2015 Launch, according to American Honda Sales. The Honda Civic is now available for purchase, starting at $19,450. Honda sensing is now alsoavailable on all Honda Nameplates.

Abolder 2020 Toyota Highlander

The 2020 Toyota Highlander also debuted at the 2019 New YorkAuto Show with sporting a bold, chiseled new design. The new architecture and the TNGA-K platform promises to improve the ride quality and boasts a 17% fuel economy improvement over the current generation hybrid with an estimated 34 mpg combined. For connectivity, it offers the Standard Android Auto, Apple CarPlay®, SiriusXM®,Waze and Amazon Alexa Compatibility.

In the safety department, it comes equipped with the ToyotaSafety Sense 2.0 Standard (TSS 2.0) and you have the choice of a V6 engine or aNew-Gen Hybrid Powertrain. The new Highlander also comes equipped with the new available Dynamic Torque Vectoring All-Wheel Drive with Driveline Disconnect and Multi-Terrain Select as well as a 12.3” largest in segment multimediadisplay.

The mostadvanced Outback ever…

The Outback is Subaru’s best-selling line and the new 2020Subaru Outback unveiled at the NYIAS has gotten a full redesign that has made it the most advanced outback ever. There is the tablet-style HD Subaru Starlink as well as an 11-inch digital touchscreen. Some of the new highlights include the available segment-exclusive driver focus distraction mitigation system, an infrared camera on top of the dash for facial recognition, as well as the ability to identify signs of driver fatigue and distraction.

The 2020 Outback perfectly blends car-like handling with SUV capability, equipped with Subaru Symmetrical AWD 8.7. It also comes with assist technology alongside an advanced adaptive cruise control and new lane centering. The new Outback comes equipped with a 2.4L turbocharged boxer engine and XT models come with 260 HP.

The carmaker also debuted the Onyx Edition XT and the SUVsports a unique exterior and interior. It provides 8.7 inches of ground clearance and is available in Nappa Leather, the first time, for an Outback.The new Subaru has an estimated fuel economy of 2.5LT/33 Turbo 23/30 and will beavailable for purchase by early fall. Although pricing has not been revealed,it will be similar to that of the current model.

A crashed HR-Vat the show? Really, Honda?

While other car makers were revealing cool innovation in their shiny new cars, Honda brought in a crashed HR-V so you can see what a car goes through in an IIHS Crash Test. The HR-V had the best-possible rating in all sixIIHS Crashworthiness Test and is one of eleven Honda models to earn an NCAP5-Star overall score. With an MPG average of 34, the Honda HR-V is already available and can be yours for from just $20,520

The New York International Auto Show continues to excite and mesmerize us with the new innovations on display with these new debuts. So far, it’s been an extremely interesting affair. Hopefully, this tempo will be sustained through to the final day of the show. Hopefully, I’ll also be here to give afull recap, as well. For now, these remain the most interesting highlights of the 2019 edition of the New York International Auto Show.
