The event will focus on the benefits of technology and STEM careers for the Hispanic community and will feature interactive booths and activities.
Created to teach and motivate Latinos on how fun, beneficial and even profitable it can be to embrace and learn about the latest technologies is coming to Phoenix. This year, the tech fair is in full partnership with Univision 33 Phoenix. The free community event will focus on how to use technology and STEM careers with their limitless benefits to empower the Hispanic community to succeed.
“We’re proud and excited to have Univision’s support in making this event a success. Our past conferences in California have been impactful, but this one will be taken to a whole new level with the support of on air promotions in local radio and TV. Both Univision and Tu Tecnología see this as a pilot to take this needed community program to top Hispanic markets nationally.” – said Cosette Torres, President of Tu Tecnología and Co-Founder of the Tecnifícate educational event series.
The program will be hosted by Ariel Coro, latino influencer and the leading tech expert for Hispanics who is a highly engaging and entertaining keynote speaker. Coro has been the go-to tech expert for Univision’s top morning show, Despierta América, for over four years and is also the host of Tu Tecnología, a TV segment which educates Hispanic families on the latest technologies, apps and gadgets.
In addition to new interactive fair booths and family activities, the program for Tecnifícate this year will highlight the importance of learning to code among topics such as the latest in health tech, from fitness trackers to apps and more. Other topics include how to leverage banking and personal finance apps and resources and the latest in automotive trends and tech features. Small business owners in attendance will also learn about the latest resources and tips for raising money online, increasing their sales and ramping up their social media chops. Parents will receive the latest tips to protect their privacy and that of their families in the increasingly risky online world of cyber criminals and bullies.
The event will be held on Saturday, November 8th, 2014 at Phoenix College’s Bulpitt Auditorium located at 1202 W. Thomas Road Phoenix, AZ, 85013. Doors will open to the public at 9:30 AM and the last prize drawing will take place at 2:30 PM. Attendees will enter a drawing to receive sponsor tech prizes such as computers, tablets, cell phones, cameras and more.
